housing crisis

Posters I made yesterday for a an ad campaign for the NPR podcast (for my porfolio and not for real). I still have to work on type, but these images took most of the afternoon. I may end up only using one of them. I like them all, but for a triptic I think they should be different from each other. They are meant to go into bus stop shelters. I wanted to specifically bring attention to the housing crisis b/c their This American Life on the issue was phenomenal.

book cover trilogy

This is round one of my book cover trilogy revamp. I was hitting a wall with these and my elsibell told me to just do the opposite of what I wanted to do. She said that sometimes you need to just go try something else. I know this seems pretty self evident, but I was trying so hard to make the square peg go through the round hole. After I changed gears this came together in a day. I am super excited with the result. I still have typography to tweak, but over all I am happy something is falling into place.

I have become remarkably bad about posting and posting anything of note. I rely on J Fox to keep the world in touch with our various endevours. I hope in the future to be able to post more, but until this quarter (my last quarter) is complete I will be noticeably absent. But before I take my leave a couple of thing: I will have a shout out on daily candy Atlanta on monday for my journals. This, of course, was the one thing I did for fun and not because I saw it as a money maker. I think that's always how it works. I am also going to go show my work to beep beep gallery. They are booked through the year, as most good galleries are, but they have a bin where they are going to be selling art and they want to take a look at my stuff.

The beginning is slowly dissolving into the "behind schedule" and I am so anxious I could vomit. I know it will all be ok, but there are so many projects and so little time. I am good with time management, but even so I am concerned. I cannot articulate much on the matter of school, but I will give a little preview of one of my projects. I am building my website in flash. I know what the intro is going to be so I am in the midst of drawing up some characters. I am really excited about this site. It will be for both design and illustration work, but the intro will be a little animation. More to come
